Jim & Lois {Couple}

I've known Jim & Lois for 3 years now, and we all just love their friendship. They were married on 7/7/7 and have been in love ever since. We're neighbors, so Jim will randomly come over with his really good cinnamon rolls, or we'll watch movies together, or just have random chats on our front steps. I was so excited when they asked me to do a couple shoot for them! Not gonna lie, i've been wondering when they'd ask. ;) They're so gentle and loving with one another, and their loving care for each other is very evident in their lives. Jim is the important leader and Lois will gently follow.





I always love the reaction clients give me when I ask them to stand in the road. Each one is pretty classic. "Wait but there's cars coming!" "No, they're not, this isn't a busy street." "But..." "Yes, I will tell you if one comes." Always so funny, but i'm always happy with the results!























"Give me your "This is my woman" face." Ohhh. So good. :D

Shadow

Hey everyone!

Just as a quick update, i've had several girls ask if they could come on a shoot with me and do some shadowing to learn the ropes of what you do on shoots. The answer to that is yes! If I didn't have photographers believe in me I wouldn't be where I am today, so I think it's really important to be there for other girls. As long as you have your own DSLR camera to work with you can do it! Wilson {Family love}

I've known the Wilson's for 3 years now. Mr. & Mrs. are my care group leaders, and some of their kids are my best friends. I did my sweet 16 ball with Julie, since our birthday's are only 1 day apart. Mrs. Wilson has been there for everything with me, and they are so close to my heart. Their family is so loving and they are by far some of the nicest people I have ever met. Time after time they have been there and blessed my family. Their hearts are made of gold and they're all just so gorgeous. Remember Jeanette? Mrs. Wilson loved her pictures, so I was thrilled when they asked to get family pictures done. We went to this amazing little park in Gathersburg where they used to live and it was simply perfect.

We found this amazing little street with some of the best fall trees. :) Needless to say we spent a good amount of time there because I just had to soak all of it up for their pictures.


The famous "buddy" picture. Especially with larger families, I love doing the buddy pictures.

As we're walking towards our next location Paul calls my name, I turn around, and he's just straight up chillin in a tree. THIS is what I call a personality picture baby! :D

Cairns {Family love}

I love shooting families. Portrait sessions and weddings are wonderful, but there is something about a family shoot that I just adore so much, and that's love. Love that is showed from the parents, the kids, all of them together, their love for other things, i'm literally getting to capture their lives and show the world how much they love one another. That never gets old for me. :) This month I shot the beautiful Cairns family. Courtney, the oldest, is one of my dearest friends and it was such a joy to take the family pictures. They are a wonderful, outgoing, enthusiastic, LOVING, and precious family.



When Mr. Cairns got there he mentioned how he was cold, so all the kids ran up to him and screamed "HUG OF WARMTH!!" as they wrapped their arms around him. Totally a highlight of the day.

{You need an update}

God, in this total faithfulness, saw my need and provided me with a lot of shoots this past week. (And this coming week.) These shoots have blessed and brought so much joy to me as i'm on the job. Another great aspect was that I was finally able to purchase the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 lens. (!!!) I've wanted this bad boy for quite some time now, but I honestly didn't think i'd be getting it anytime in the near future since the cost was so high.

I've been swarmed with school, shoots, and editing the past weeks. I've also been faced with a lot of deadlines for this business and it's all just been a lot. A blessing, but a lot. Now that I have this awesome lens, I decided I needed to just stop editing, blogging, working, doing homework, and just go on a Chipotle & downtown date with a friend. It was very needed. :) (And maaaybe I was really craving a burrito bowl? ;)



(I've decided that one burrito bowl could feed a starving kid in Africa for a week. :P)

Hogan Family

I had the pleasure of shooting the Hogan family this week! "Officially" it was Dad's shoot so I was able to go and second shoot, which was really awesome. Patrick contacted us because he needed new pictures for the political literature that he puts out to help his campaign. This is the second time i've done a shoot for the only purpose of using them for literature. Last time, dad got a perfect picture for them and they really wanted to recreate that. :) They are all so gorgeous and it was great to work with them!

Hand of God

I may have booked my very own wedding, and I may have just gotten my questionnaire back, and I may have realized how really perfect this couple is for me. I mean, I was over joyed after meeting them, but now I feel like I know them way more. It's so evident that God is just sitting there going "Hey ya little child that belongs to me, I got you covered. So you just sit back and watch me do my thing. I'm working on you and you're gonna love the results." Um, yeah. I'm watching, God. And I'm pretty darn excited when I watch this little business of mine grow because of His grace.

Right when I think of all the things I need to invest into and get done, God just gives me these little happy photography moments. I love being able to delight in this experience and see God's faithfulness.
