Update {Personal}

I am loving Michigan! We've always had family here, but we've never really experienced the wonderful things Michigan has to offer. :( Now we are in Mackinac City, and tomorrow we will be spending a full day on Mackinac Island! I am so excited. The fresh, blue water, is stunning, and the breeze is so refreshing. Especially after 100 degree, Maryland. We had a lovely day walking around the town and window shopping. I brought along my best friend Rachael, since my older brother couldn't make it. This "family" time is so great and needed! :D

Time to re-design

It seems everyone is making over their blog or business these days! I'm also jumping on that ban wagon. :) Not gonna lie, working with designers/graphic artists is pretty fun, and takes a lot of time. You don't want to mess up on something this important! Being an indecisive person isn't helping with this process either. ;) I can't wait to show off the new re-vamped blog though! It's going to be so me, and look fabulous. ^_^

Inspiration

Discouraged. Yep. That's been me. I don't have that lense, or that camera, or that website. My business isn't anything like their's. I've had quite the little break downs by myself these past couple of weeks. I'm so aware of everything that needs to happened and grow. While reading another blog, I loved this quote. "The camera doesn't make the business, the photographer makes the business." Um. Got that, Anne? It's YOU who rocks it, not your equipment or website. :D Holler. :) I'm still working, i'm gonna make my progress and grow, but i'm still good. I still have special things to offer that other photographers don't. (I mean, what photographer breaks into dance at their shoots? I kid, I kid. Sorta. ;)) What an encouragement to remember! What encourages you with your business? I'd love to hear your stories! :)

1 year.

It's my birthday!! :D Ok. So my birthday isn't till the 20th. But, it's my precious little blog's birthday. :) One year ago today I kick started my business after an amazing internship with Kristen Leigh. I've grown so much! Before that internship I didn't know how to shoot in manual, or know how to work my camera that well. Now, I've learned that I actually prefer shooting in aperture. I hadn't ever looked at Jasmine Star's blog, or Jamie Delaine, and I certainly had never heard of a shootsac. But now I've done family shoots, senior shoots/portrait, infant shoots, couple shoots, and loved every minute of it. If you know me, then you know that after a shoot I often call my editing process "lightroom therapy". I love editing all the pictures and picking the best ones.

This business is my pride and joy. I love it to death, I'm so grateful for everyone who has believed in it or encouraged me along the way. I have such amazing friends in my clients, and I can't wait for you guys to watch me grow, because I am growing! I have so many ideas and thoughts to make this business flourish even more. I'll get there, one small step at a time.

Food Shoot

A couple of weeks ago, I had the joy of second shooting for my dad. We were taking pictures for the Shamrock, a Irish pub/restaurant located in Thurmount for their upcoming commercial, which is now out! Here are some of our best ones. :)

Did someone say food?

I was able to second shoot for my dad this week. It was such fun, because we got to shoot dishes for a restaurant. They are doing a TV commercial and needed pictures for some of their favorite meals. If you know me, then you know I love food. When I go on vacation, I take pictures of every single meal I eat, and i'm kinda known for that. :P Here's a little sneak peak of what's coming once the commercial is out!

Goodbyes and Carriage Rides

Summer always seems to begin with goodbyes. Some are good, some are bad. Saying goodbye to finals and long papers? Yeah, i'd call that good. :D But saying goodbye to friends is always something I hate. I won't be able to hang out with my buddy, Emmie, every Friday in bio class.. Emmie and I are extreme laughers. Hardcore, can't breathe, faces red, laughing so hard sound doesn't come out, laughers. And I love it to death. :D We had so many fun memories in our little biology class.


Thankfully she goes to church with me, so yay for Sundays! :D I think one of my hardest goodbyes was for my friends Jessica and Josh. They go to AWANA with me, and not my church, so seeing one another at church isn't gonna happen.. Booo!

Buuuut we have promises of starbucks runs, walk around the park nights, and just fun little dates. I'm so grateful for them! So now that we've said our goodbyes.. How about some SUMMER!!! I'm stoked. :D My summer pretty much equals, birthday ball to plan, books to read, lake days, business to grow, lives to invest into, and crazy awesome vacation to go on! :D Mackinac Ilsand, in Michigan, with my best friend and family? Um, yeah. I support that. :] When I told my friend, Rachael, her reaction was "Oh man, we'll get great pictures!" Yeah, between her D40, my D40, and my dad's D3s, there will be lots of pictures. ^_^ Best part is there aren't any cars on the island, so everyone has to walk, bike, or go on carriage rides. Holler!
