I'm not sure I've laughed so much while editing family pictures before. The Bentzel's family pictures were hilarious to me with the faces they make and the expressions they show with one another. I've had the pleasure of being in a church family with them for 4 years now, and anyone who knows them can attest to the fact that they are simply wonderful. Three years ago they started the long process of bringing their dear Sophie Rose home from China. Ellie, the oldest, had been praying for years that they would adopt. She convinced Mrs. Bentzel, and on Christmas '07 Mr. Bentzel gave Mrs. a map of China, signifing that they could start the adoption process. This family's faithfulness to God and trusting in Him is inspiring. I've cried and prayed with them during their time leading up to Sophie's arrival and when they left to go bring Sophie home. We were there at the airport with some other families to welcome them home with their new family member! The journey has been incredible and God has been so faithful and so good towards them.
Did I mention that Sophie is a total ham? Yeah, somebody has watched the Karate Kid too many times. ;)
"Ok guys, we need an actual normal one for this pose."
What's fall without some good ole leaf fights?
Reason #52 why I have the best second shooter ever. Dad had this amazing idea of having the Bentzels eat ice cream, and then have Sophie try and eat the ice cream with chop sticks (at which she succeeded) and have her make a face since she doesn't like ice cream. Great, right?
Daddy and his girls
Sophie is so beautiful, and I think she looks just like Shane!
Loved this idea, too. Getting a picture with everyone doing their "peace" signs, since in China that pose is very popular. :)
Shane totally makes this picture. :P
Special thanks to my first shadower, Courtney! You did fabulous, woman! :)
Stay Beautiful,
Anne
